I’m just in time for this month’s GBBO bake from my calendar as I showed you in my jammy dodgers post back in February. These were made for a training day at work and were a perfect excuse for playing with one of my new toys from Lakeland 🙂
These were a total experiment for me, I want to branch out into making things other than cakes and cupcakes and these fit the bill very nicely. Comments are appreciated as always, Click here to see how it went.
Happy Valentine’s Day! I don’t usually go for Valentine’s, as long as I get a card I’m happy! My Nan bought me the official Great British Bake Off 2014 calendar for Christmas and every month features a new recipe (January was an olive loaf that went surprisingly well). February of course featured Love Heart biscuits which are almost exactly like homemade jammy dodgers.
I look forward to making a new recipe every month, there are some great ones coming up – like madeleines in March, florentines in September and pecan pie in November. Anyway, this is my February attempt.

I am the first to admit that my baking range and repertoire are fairly limited to cakes and cupcakes. That’s why when Alex suggested I make these biscotti for him, I was more than happy to oblige. Especially as it gave me an excuse to use these, which I’ve been saving but were nearing their expiration date.
Orange infused cranberries from the Sainsburys Christmas range. I thought they’d be good, but they were GOOD.

So Christmas is just around the corner as we all know (only 49 sleeps to go!) and I thought I’d make my own mincemeat to get into the festive spirit!

PS – watch out for the follow up mince pie post I’ll be making in December!
