I’m just in time for this month’s GBBO bake from my calendar as I showed you in my jammy dodgers post back in February. These were made for a training day at work and were a perfect excuse for playing with one of my new toys from Lakeland 🙂
These were a total experiment for me, I want to branch out into making things other than cakes and cupcakes and these fit the bill very nicely. Comments are appreciated as always, Click here to see how it went.
I got given these as a Christmas present from a client and they’ve been sitting on the side in the living room since. I love Fruit Pastilles and sweets like that loads (I have such a general sweet tooth, anything with a bit of sugar in and I’m happy!) so I immediately thought of baking when I was given these.
I wanted to bake something quickly after a quite bad baking fail (you don’t want to know!), as I get downheartened easily when a bake doesn’t go quite right. The last thing I want is to lose my baking mojo and enthusiasm.

So this is another old bake of mine, I did it about two months ago now. These are the raspberries I got when I went to a pick your own farm and I froze them because I didn’t know what to bake with them, although I had lots and lots of ideas. I eventually decided on this recipe, purely because I love white chocolate and raspberries as a flavour combination.

Yep you read the title right, this weekend I made cupcakes that look like hamburgers! It was one of my netball friends birthdays a few weeks ago and as yesterday was absolutely gorgeous barbecue weather, that’s exactly what we did!
When I first decided to start this blog, I did a lot of research and browsing through the more established blogs to get ideas for bakes or even to just copy a bake I really liked. This recipe most definitely caught my eye and I am absolutely delighted that I’ve finally had an opportunity to actually bake/make it! You can find the pictures that inspired me at Bakerella’s blog which I think you will agree are pretty awesome. I didn’t have time to make the cookie fries but I definitely think I’ll give them a go in the future.
These beauties went down very well (at least I think they did!) and it was really exciting for me to actually create something. The assembly of all the different parts of these cupcakes was actually more rewarding than the bake of them which is unusual for me. Click here to see how it went and to discover how to make them yourselves. Comments are appreciated from those that tried them 🙂
PS – aren’t you lucky, getting two posts in one week!
